What to expect
Your Appointment
A qualified Registered Holistic Nutritionist is trained to assess and identify any current nutritional imbalances, and to develop unique nutrition, lifestyle and supplement protocols that can help bring your body back into proper balance, thereby resulting in optimal health.
What might your first visit to a Registered Holistic Nutritionist look like?
When you book your first appointment, you will be asked to complete a series of detailed forms. The information on these forms will provide insight into your personal goals, your main health concern(s), your specific health history, your current symptoms, aspects of your current lifestyle and eating habits. You will likely also fill out a multiple-day food diary.
During the initial consultation, you and your practitioner will discuss your intake forms in detail. Your Registered Holistic Nutritionist will want to get a sense of what has brought you to where you are today. There is no standard solution. Your practitioner will be using their skills to identify imbalances and opportunities by examining your diet and lifestyle to date.
In the following appointment, your Registered Holistic Nutritionist will present you with a customized nutrition and lifestyle plan that is designed to help you achieve your health goals and address your main health concerns. You will leave with an action plan designed specifically for you. You will be provided with a few key items to work on over the short term. Typically, this would be the beginning of a process that will involve a transition to long term changes, reduction in symptoms, and a path to increased vitality.

What is the difference between a Dietitian and a Nutritionist?
Holistic Nutrition is a natural approach to health and wellness that incorporates evidence-based methods of diet, lifestyle, and detoxification. The ultimate goal of a Holistic Nutritionist is to “catch and keep health” for our clients as opposed to just “chasing disease” and trying to keep symptoms under control. Holistic Nutritionists work very closely with their clients and see each and everyone as an individual with unique needs, treating the person as a whole rather than just focusing on one piece of the puzzle or taking a “one size fits all” approach to a specific health concern. They conduct a thorough analysis of the complete history of their clients, including not only diet history but emotional history, exposure to environmental toxins, work, lifestyle habits, and more. A dietitian is somebody who is an expert in “dietetics,” which is an area of concern in handling diet and its effects on a person’s health. Dietitians work with their clients to change their nutrition based on a medical condition and individual health goals.
How long until I see results?
Some clients notice a reduction in symptoms as early as 2 weeks, some clients also take longer to see success in decreasing symptoms. This also depends on the main health concern, some may take longer to re-balance, and repair.
